Privacy Policy
Summary
Reembr is built so that where your places are, and the checks that notice when you leave, stay on your phone. The map imagery and place search inside the app come from OpenStreetMap, so those two features do talk to a third party — details below. This website is a marketing site: it collects only what you choose to send us — a waitlist email or a support message — plus basic, privacy-respecting usage analytics.
The app: data on your device
The app stores your saved places and their names, where they are, their reminder areas, whether they’re switched on, availability schedules, linked checklists, reminder preferences, and app settings — all on your device.
The app: data synced with your account
If you sign in, we may store a sign-in ID, your email, display name, profile photo, sign-in methods, plan status, checklist templates, checklist items, and safe app settings. Where your places are, where you’ve been, and your comings and goings never sync.
The app: location data
In this release we do not store where your places are, their reminder areas, your location readings, or your comings and goings on our servers. Location permission is used on your device to help decide when to show a reminder.
The app: maps & place search
Two parts of the app do reach a third party, and neither one is us. Map imagery is loaded from OpenStreetMap’s public tile service, so when you look at the map, the area you are viewing — along with your IP address — is visible to them. When you search for a place by name, the words you type are sent to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim search service to turn them into a location.
Neither request includes your device’s own position, your saved places, or anything tied to your account, and the reminder detection itself never uses them — it runs entirely on your device. Their handling of what they do receive is governed by the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
This website: waitlist & beta sign-ups
When you join the waitlist or ask to be notified about the Android beta, we store the email address you enter (and which button it came from) so we can email you at launch. We don’t sell it or use it for unrelated marketing.
This website: support messages
When you use the support form, we receive the topic, the message you write, and — if you provide one — your email address, so we can reply. Please don’t include sensitive personal information you don’t want us to hold.
This website: analytics & cookies
We use Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics to understand which parts of the site people use (for example, which buttons get pressed) so we can improve it. These set cookies or similar identifiers and collect standard technical data like device type, approximate region, and pages viewed. We don’t use them to identify you personally.
Notifications
In the app, notifications remind you to run a checklist. Delivery depends on your device, operating system, permissions, and battery settings.
Payments
If you buy a paid plan, payment is handled by Apple (via the App Store) or Google (via Google Play), not by us directly. We may receive plan status, subscription/product identifiers, renewal state, and entitlement information from the store. We do not receive your card details.
Data retention
Local app data stays on your device until you delete it, uninstall, or clear app data. Waitlist emails, support messages, and account data are kept while they’re useful for the purpose collected or as needed for legal, billing, security, and operational reasons.
Your choices
You can change notification and location permissions in system settings, edit or delete places and checklists in the app, and ask us to remove your waitlist email or support message via the support form. You can limit analytics through your browser settings or an ad/analytics blocker.
Children
Reembr is not intended for children under the age required to use online account services in their region.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. If a change materially affects how location-related data is handled, we’ll provide clear notice in the app.
